Suspected Daesh terrorist arrested in Istanbul ahead of planned bombing attack
Turkish counterterrorism forces successfully intercepted a suspected Daesh terrorist in Istanbul who was allegedly planning a major bombing attack. The suspect, who received bomb-making training in Syria and entered Türkiye illegally, was apprehended in Istanbul’s Bagcilar district.

According to security sources, the Turkish counterterrorism unit identified the suspect as a member of the Daesh terrorist organization, having received direct orders to carry out an attack in Istanbul. The suspect was meticulously monitored by law enforcement, with each move tracked to prevent the planned attack.
Daesh terrorist arrested in Bagcilar
The suspect, who was reportedly preparing for a large-scale bombing attack, was arrested at his hideout in Bagcilar after thorough physical and technical surveillance. During the operation, police seized various digital materials, organizational documents, and a sword from the scene.
Following his arrest, the suspect was transferred to the prosecutor’s office and subsequently detained on charges of “membership in a terrorist organization.”
