The fastest-flowing river Chorokh River freezes under the influence of Siberian cold

The Chorokh River, known as the fastest-flowing river in the world, turns into ice under the influence of Siberian cold.

The river, located northeast of Türkiye, originates from the Mescit Mountains in Erzurum, passing through Bayburt and Ispir.

Ispir’s Mayor Ahmet Coşkun commented on the situation, saying: “The world’s wildest and most flowing river, Chorokh, has frozen. This is the greatest asset of the water valley. There is no snow, but Chorokh is frozen. Chorokh is usually frozen during the winter months.” he said.

The ice covering the Chorokh River was welcomed as a fascinating natural phenomenon by the residents and visitors.
