Russian State Duma speaker visits Saudi Arabia amid aid to Ukraine
Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin’s historic visit to Saudi Arabia coincides with the Kingdom’s crucial humanitarian support for Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict
Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, alongside delegates from Russia’s lower house of parliament, has made their inaugural visit to Saudi Arabia, marking a significant diplomatic event, as reported by the State Duma’s official website.
During his time in Riyadh, Volodin is scheduled to hold discussions with Abdullah al-ash-Sheikh, the head of Saudi Arabia’s Consultative Assembly, as outlined by the State Duma.
On the other hand, Ukrainian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Anatolii Petrenko expressed deep appreciation to the Kingdom for its provision of crucial humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian populace amidst the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, now entering its third year.
Initiating on Feb. 15, the Saudi humanitarian agency KSrelief has launched a series of missions aimed at delivering vital aid to Ukraine. Flights have been operating from Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport to Rzeszow Airport, situated near the border of Poland and Ukraine.
Most recently, on Friday, KSrelief’s ninth cargo aircraft departed from King Khalid International Airport, laden with 80 tons of essential relief supplies, including generators and baby food provisions.
