A plane believed to be carrying Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) chief Sergey Naryshkin allegedly landed in Turkish capital of Ankara on Tuesday.

According to allegations from security and intelligence experts, a Special Flight Detachment aircraft, thought to be carrying Naryshkin, traveled from Moscow to Ankara.

Naryshkin last met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Russia in June. His most recent visit to Türkiye was in 2022, during which he held discussions in Ankara with CIA Director William Burns.

Further details about the purpose of Naryshkin’s current visit have not been disclosed.
