Ruling AK Party spokesperson rejects Israeli FM Saar’s remarks on Erdogan

Türkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) strongly rejected recent remarks made by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar targeting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, AK Party Deputy Chair and Spokesperson Omer Celik described Saar’s comments as “null and void,” emphasizing that Türkiye would continue to oppose Israel’s military actions in Gaza.
Erdogan’s stance framed as defense of global peace
Celik asserted that President Erdogan’s position reflects a broader commitment to defending regional and global peace.
He characterized Erdogan’s criticism of Israel’s actions in Gaza as a part of a wider humanitarian effort, stating the president’s approach is aligned with protecting human dignity.
Celik also accused the Israeli government of attempting to deflect attention from the situation in Gaza by targeting Erdogan, calling the current Israeli administration a threat to stability in the region.
This massacre network, whose cruelty towards Palestinians surpasses even the Nazis, is the enemy of all humanity.
Our President is the loudest voice on the humanitarian front. That is why this massacre network, which is the enemy of humanity, is targeting our President.
Our President’s fight against this massacre network that threatens regional and world peace is a fight to protect the dignity of all humanity.

‘Statements of Israeli FM against our President are unacceptable’
Türkiye’s Minister of Justice Yilmaz Tunc also said, “The Israeli Foreign Minister’s statements towards our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, are pure insolence and can never be accepted.”
In a social media post on X, Tunc said, “Our President is a leader who always stands by the oppressed and is the loudest voice of justice in the international arena by saying, “A more just world is possible.” It is not possible for Israeli officials, who committed the crime of genocide by killing more than 50 thousand innocent people in Gaza and are subject to precautionary measures and arrest warrants by international courts, to cover up these crimes against humanity with their ugly statements.”
Stating that Türkiye stands by Palestine, Tunc concluded by saying, “The baby-killing barbarians will eventually be held accountable before international law for every drop of blood shed. As Türkiye, we will continue to stand with our Palestinian brothers and against the oppressors.”
