Ruling AK Party plans overhaul in cadres, methodology and communication
The Justice and Development Party (AK Party) is set to implement a comprehensive strategy in 2025 to strengthen its connection with citizens by revising its political methodology, communication strategies and party cadres.
The party’s “Change and Return to Essence” initiative aims to reshape its political approach and enhance engagement with the public.
Extensive field surveys, public consultation
As part of its new strategy, the AK Party will conduct extensive field surveys to better understand societal issues and assess the impact of government policies. Surveys will cover a wide range of topics, including:
- Economy and inflation
- Employment
- Healthcare and education
- Security and counter-terrorism
- Social policies and foreign affairs
The results will be analyzed and compiled into reports highlighting public expectations, concerns, and suggestions.
These reports will be presented directly to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Emphasis on public engagement
A core aspect of the 2025 strategy is fostering closer ties with citizens. The AK Party plans to work with independent research companies to gather data and produce actionable insights.
These findings will help the party adjust its policies and develop new solutions tailored to public needs.
One focus area is the “Terror-Free Türkiye” initiative, with the party analyzing its societal impact and exploring public perspectives on security and social harmony.
Cadre, methodology reform
The AK Party is also undertaking an internal review to address shortcomings identified during the March 31 elections.
In addition to restructuring its cadres, the party is introducing a refreshed political methodology and communication strategy to align with its “Together We Govern” and “Building a New Century” vision.
“We are analyzing the reasons behind the election results and focusing on self-criticism. By staying true to our values, ethics, and principles, we aim to build a stronger, more inclusive future with the participation of all 85 million citizens,” the AK Party sources stated.
