The book “A Century of Harmony: Romania-Türkiye Relations 1923-2023” is launched in Ankara, highlighting the historical and diplomatic connections between the two countries

A new book titled “A Century of Harmony: Romania-Türkiye Relations 1923-2023,” which highlights the historical and diplomatic connections between Romania and Türkiye, was launched in Ankara on Thursday. Romanian Embassy in Ankara arranged the event, which was hosted by Romanian Ambassador Stefan Alexandru Tinca.

The book launch was attended by a broad group of people, including Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Romanian Minister of State for European Affairs Daniela Gitman, diplomatic mission officials, academics, and many others.

Bozay underlined the importance of both the book and the event in his remarks, noting, “The book is valuable, and this event is therefore very important.” He emphasized Türkiye-Romania’s traditionally excellent connections, stating, “Our bilateral relations have always been very positive.”

Bozay also emphasized the continuing and potential beneficial advances in relations, emphasizing the peoples’ eagerness to sustain these links. He discussed Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu’s visit to Ankara on May 21, emphasizing the two nations’ good economic cooperation.

Daniela Gitman agreed with Bozay, noting that ties between Türkiye and Romania are now at their pinnacle. She provided instances of the two countries’ common opinions on a variety of problems.

Ambassador Tinca reminded the audience about the significance of the occasion as well as the joint efforts behind the book. An exhibition highlighting Türkiye and Romania’s bilateral connections was also presented during the occasion.

Academics who contributed to the book discussed the historical relationships as well as the book’s content, offering a detailed look at the Türkiye-Romania relationship.

The event culminated with a book signing ceremony to commemorate the two countries’ shared history and current collaboration. The book, initiated by the Romanian Embassy in Ankara, provides readers a detailed look at the history and images chronicling the Romania-Türkiye connection.
