President Erdogan’s UN speech draws global media attention
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the 79th U.N. General Assembly in New York, drawing global attention with his remarks.
The New York Times highlighted Erdogan’s 20-minute critique of the Tel Aviv government. Reuters led with Erdogan’s statement, “UN and Western values died in Gaza.” Politico emphasized his comparison of Netanyahu to Hitler, quoting: “Just as Hitler was stopped 70 years ago, so must Netanyahu be stopped today.”
German media, including Die Welt, reported Erdogan’s accusation of Israel committing genocide, while Serbia’s Politika echoed the Hitler comparison. Croatian state TV, HRT, featured Erdogan’s call to “Stop Israel.”
In Greece, Ta Nea noted Erdogan’s call for global recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, labeling it a “bold challenge.”
