President Erdogan to meet assassinated politician’s wife
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet with Ayse Ates, the wife of Sinan Ates, the former President of the Ulku Ocaklari, who was murdered in Ankara.
Sources from the Presidential Communications Directorate informed that the meeting will take place in a few days.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office will start the trial of 22 defendants for the murder of Sinan Ates, former President of the Grey Wolves and a lecturer at Hacettepe University, on July 1.
In the indictment of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Ates’s wife Ayse Ates and Selman Bozkurt, who was with him during the incident, were named as “complainants,” and 22 people were named as “defendants.”
In the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the indictment prepared against 22 defendants was accepted by the Ankara 32nd High Criminal Court.
The court decided to hold the first hearing of the case on July 1, 2024.
The 22 defendants will be tried on charges of “premeditated murder,” “attempted murder,” “instigating the crime,” and “aiding the crime.”
