President Erdogan to host nationalist leader Bahceli amid alliance discussions
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to host Devlet Bahceli, the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), on Wednesday at the Presidential Complex.
The meeting, announced by Erdogan’s communications director Fahrettin Altun on Tuesday, is set to take place face-to-face at 16:00 local time.
Bahceli, who heads the MHP, has recently expressed his party’s stance on fostering a broad-based alliance between the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), supported by other political elements, a proposal known as the Table of Six.
This announcement follows concerns raised earlier today when Bahceli experienced delays and difficulty walking during his party’s group meeting.
Sources from the MHP clarified that Bahceli had encountered a temporary blood pressure issue and reassured that he currently has no health problems.
