President Erdogan set for 3-country Asia tour next week
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Wednesday that he will embark on a three-nation tour to Malaysia, Indonesia, and Pakistan next week.
Speaking at an event for the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in the capital Ankara, Erdogan highlighted Türkiye’s growing importance in regional and global politics, saying, “With the wealth we inherited from our history, culture, and ancient state traditions, we are rapidly bringing our country to the power and prominence it aspires to.”
Erdogan also outlined recent diplomatic efforts, including his meeting with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa in Ankara on Tuesday to discuss security, reconstruction, trade, and bilateral relations.
He mentioned recent engagements with global leaders, such as Rwandan President Paul Kagame and representatives of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.
Meanwhile, President Erdogan held a joint press conference with with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Ankara Wednesday during which he emphasized that Türkiye will continue to work closely with Germany on regional issues, including Syria, Gaza, and the war in Ukraine.
