President Erdogan congratulates Azerbaijan on it's independence

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan extended his congratulations to Azerbaijan on its Independence Day on Tuesday, emphasizing the deep bond of “One Nation, Two States” shared between the two countries.

“In commemorating Azerbaijan’s Independence Day on May 28, a nation with which we share the profound spirit of ‘One Nation, Two States,’ I wholeheartedly join in the rightful pride and joy of all our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters,” stated Erdogan on his social media account.

In addition, he paid tribute to the Azerbaijani “heroes” who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for independence.

Azerbaijan celebrates its independence declared on May 28, 1918. The independence of Azerbaijan, considered the “first democratic republic of the Muslim East”, was declared by the Azerbaijan National Council on May 28, 1918.
