President Erdogan calls for diligent oversight of ballot boxes in Türkiye’s elections

Erdogan emphasizes the importance of safeguarding election results until their final confirmation

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took to social media soon after local election voting ended at 5 p.m.

He delivered a vital message, emphasizing the need to uphold the election’s integrity.

Erdogan said, “Dear friends and companions in our journey and cause, the voting process across the country has ended as of 17:00 (5 p.m.).”

“It is now time to take care of the ballots and boxes,” he continued. “I strongly urge all my brothers and sisters who are in charge of these boxes to stay put until every vote is counted and the results are finalized in order to defend the people’s right to choose.”

This message from President Erdogan comes in the context of the March 31 Local Administration General Elections, a crucial milestone in Türkiye’s political landscape.
