President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Malaysia‘s capital, Kuala Lumpur, for official engagements as part of a high-level diplomatic visit.

Traveling aboard the official presidential aircraft “TC-TRK,” Erdogan was welcomed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Dr. Wan Azizah Ismail, alongside Turkish and Malaysian officials.

Turkish delegation and reception

The Turkish delegation accompanying Erdogan includes first lady Emine Erdogan, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, Defense Minister Yasar Guler, Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli, and Trade Minister Omer Bolat. Also present is Binali Yildirim, president of the Wise Men Council of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), as well as Erdogan’s Chief Advisor on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Cagatay Kilic.

Erdogan was greeted upon arrival by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Malaysia Emir Salim Yuksel, Malaysian Defense Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin, and embassy staff.

Agenda and key events

During his visit, Erdogan is scheduled to receive an honorary doctorate from Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah at the Putrajaya International Convention Center.

Additionally, he will address public officials and university students as part of the “Türkiye-Malaysia Strategic Cooperation in the New Century” forum.
