AK Party’s district mayor candidates for Bursa were announced and President Erdogan, who spoke at the introduction ceremony, criticised the opposition with harsh words

President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the People’s Alliance will work day and night to prepare Türkiye’s cities for the future after the mayoral elections.

“We are determined to prepare our cities for the future by improving the living conditions in rural areas and encouraging our people to stay where they were born and raised,” President Erdogan said at the presentation meeting of AK Party’s candidates for Bursa’s districts ahead of the mayoral elections to be held on 31 May 2024.

President Erdogan stated that the AK Party’s vision will create an urbanisation policy that will be exemplary in all cities.

He said that the urbanisation policy they want to realise includes building disaster-resistant cities where people can live in peace, security and comfort.

“We have come to this level of development as a result of our policies that embrace 85 million people in 81 provinces without discrimination,” Erdogan said, adding, “Therefore, ahead of us lays a long period for us to realise our middle and long-term programs.”

In his speech, the President criticised the opposition for not having a concrete vision and meaningful projects before the mayoral elections, “I am really saddened to see that their only motivation is to make the AK Party and the People’s Alliance lose, as they do not have a single project or vision for our cities,” he said.
