In a terrifying incident in Istanbul’s Esenyurt district, two pitbull dogs, a breed banned in Türkiye, attacked their owner and a friend at a car wash. Despite efforts from locals to intervene, the two victims were injured and rushed to the hospital, while the aggressive dogs were taken to a municipal shelter.
Attack in Esenyurt car wash
The attack occurred around noon in the Cinar Mahallesi, 1468th Street, at a local car wash. According to witnesses, for reasons still unclear, the two pit bulls turned on their owner and a friend who was with him at the time.
Both E.A. and B.E.B. suffered injuries during the attack. Fortunately, their condition was not life-threatening, and they were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Dogs taken to municipal shelter
Following the horrifying attack, the two pit bulls were captured and taken to the Esenyurt Municipality Animal Shelter by the Veterinary Services Department.
Police arrived shortly afterward to investigate the situation.
‘Children are at risk from these dogs’
One of the local residents, Yilmaz Ceylan, expressed concerns about the danger posed by the dogs in the neighborhood.
“These dogs had already attacked people in the parking lot here. We warned them, but they didn’t listen. They were attacking children on their way to school. Now they have attacked their own owners,” Ceylan said.
Local resident fears walking through neighborhood
Ege Mevlut Ceylan, a local resident, shared his own fears regarding the dogs. “One of them barked at me once, and I had to run away in fear. Now, I’m always scared to walk through the street, especially when I’m going to school or buying bread. There were four or five of them before; now there are just two,” he said.
