In a large-scale operation coordinated across 32 Turkish provinces, 77 suspects have been arrested in connection with the terrorist group Daesh, with authorities continuing to search for additional individuals.

Authorities target Daesh financing in nationwide sweep

The operation, led by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office’s Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau, focused on Daesh‘s financing activities.

A total of 114 suspects were targeted, with arrest warrants issued for their involvement in funding the terrorist organization.

According to authorities, the operation spanned several major cities, including İzmir, Konya, Ankara, Gaziantep, Istanbul, and many others. The suspects were reportedly involved in facilitating Daesh’s terror activities within Türkiye and abroad.

The operation was executed simultaneously in various provinces, and authorities have arrested 77 individuals so far.

The whereabouts of eight suspects are currently unknown, as they are believed to be outside Türkiye, while efforts continue to apprehend 29 more individuals still at large.

Diverse range of evidence seized in police raids

During the raids, law enforcement officials seized a significant quantity of digital materials and prohibited publications linked to the Daesh terrorist organization’s propaganda.

The evidence collected will be used in ongoing investigations into the terrorist group’s operations in Türkiye and abroad.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to dismantling the financial networks supporting terrorist organizations like Daesh and disrupting their activities within Türkiye.
