Operation Gurz-4: 99 Suspects detained in crackdown on Daesh
Turkish security forces detained 99 suspects in a massive nationwide operation against the terrorist organization Daesh. “Operation Gurz-4” was conducted over three days across 26 provinces, including major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the operations on social media, detailing that the coordinated effort involved the Turkish General Directorate of Security’s Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Departments, along with provincial police departments. The operations aimed to disrupt Daesh’s terror activities and prevent potential terrorist threats.
Minister Yerlikaya praised the police forces involved, sharing footage of the operations and stating, “We will not tolerate any terrorists. We have only one goal; To fight without hesitation, with your prayers and support, until the last terrorist is neutralized.”
The comprehensive operations spanned the following provinces: Elazig, Istanbul, Kirsehir, Kirikkale, Kayseri, Manisa, Gaziantep, Adana, Ankara, Bingol, Bursa, Çankiri, Eskisehir, Hatay, Izmir, Kahramanmaras, Kilis, Kocaeli, Konya, Nevsehir, Nigde, Ordu, Osmaniye, Sakarya. “Operation Gurz-4” was also carried out against the Daesh terrorist organization in Samsun and Yalova.
Minister Yerlikaya concluded by honoring the brave police officers, saying, “I congratulate our heroic police officers who carried out the operations. May God not let even a stone touch your feet. Our nation’s prayers are with you.”
