Nurol Makina contributes to Qatar’s security with over 400 armored vehicles
Makina, a leading armored vehicle manufacturer in the Turkish defense industry, contributes to the security of Qatar with its most extensive fleet of over 400 military vehicles
At the 8th Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2024), Nurol Makina showcased the tactical wheeled vehicle Ejder Yalcın used by the Qatari military.
Anil Karel, Deputy General Manager of Nurol Makina, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the company began supplying vehicles in 2017 to meet the needs of various security and military units in Qatar.
Karel said they collaborated with Barzan Holding in Qatar and conducted the contracts through the holding. He noted that as of today, over 400 of their vehicles are in service in various units in Qatar.
Highlighting that they provide vehicles and a complete system solution, Karel mentioned the cars are equipped with significant mission and weapon systems resulting from their collaboration with ASELSAN, a Turkish defense electronics company.
“Within this scope, it is one of the major projects that Türkiye has signed in terms of budget and quantity. All supplies have not been completed, we are continuing. We have vehicles waiting for delivery for various reasons at our factory. However, satisfaction was expressed during our meetings with the users at the fair. They are particularly pleased with the Ejder TOMA vehicles they acquired for the World Cup,” Karel stated.
“They conveyed that it contributed significantly to the security of the World Cup. In addition, they mentioned that other military units are also very satisfied with the vehicles they use,” he added.
“As of 2023, we have opened a maintenance and repair center. This includes the establishment, operation, provision of training, and transfer of the matured system to the user. Probably in two years, we will probably hand over this maintenance and repair center to the user in two years, and they will be able to perform their own maintenance and repairs.”
Presence in 4 continents and over 22 countries
Anıl Karel stated that Nurol Makina aims not only at the Gulf region but also at every part of the world, and its vehicles are in operation in over 22 countries across four continents.
Emphasizing their desire to maintain and expand their presence in different geographies, Karel highlighted that they closely follow developments and upcoming programs in Saudi Arabia, besides Qatar, in the Gulf countries.
Anil Karel mentioned they follow programs related to 4×4 vehicles worldwide and expressed their ambition to be a player in those regions.
