Number of detentions in Imamoglu corruption investigation rises to 91

The number of detainees in the ongoing corruption investigation of Istanbul Municipality, including mayor Imamoglu, has risen to 91.
Most recently, Elif Guven, the Public Relations Director of Istanbul Medya A.S., who was wanted as a fugitive, was detained while entering the country at Sabiha Gokcen Airport.
The investigation, led by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, involves Istanbul Municipality President Ekrem Imamoglu and 99 other suspects facing charges of “leading a criminal organization,” “being a member of a criminal organization,” “extortion,” “bribery,” “aggravated fraud,” “unlawful acquisition of personal data,” and “rigging public tenders.”
Authorities reported that Elif Guven was apprehended upon her arrival in Türkiye and taken to the Istanbul Police Department’s Vatan Complex for processing.
Officials stated that the investigation is ongoing, and further developments will be shared with the public.
