New appointments for Turkish health and environment ministries
Recent rumors about the resignation of Health Minister Fahrettin Koca have stirred public interest, and reports confirmed his resignation along with that of another key minister as Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Mehmet Ozhaseki officially stepped down from his position.
The resignations were published in Tuesday’s Official Gazette, signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Ozhaseki has been replaced by former minister and Istanbul mayoral candidate Murat Kurum.
In a notable shift, Kemal Memisoglu, previously the Istanbul health director, has been appointed as the new health minister, succeeding Fahrettin Koca.
