Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahceli Monday has harshly criticized the Israeli regime, describing its recent actions as a manifestation of “guilt psychology.”

In a statement posted on social media, Bahceli condemned Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz for targeting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with remarks he deemed “vile” and detached from political and historical realities.

“The panic-driven attack by a genocidal regime on the President of the Republic of Türkiye reflects its own guilt. The day of reckoning for the Israeli administration, which has killed nearly 40,000 innocent people, is approaching,” Bahceli stated.

‘Türkiye must not be underestimated’

He highlighted the global awareness of the actions taken by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government, emphasizing that Türkiye remains united and resolute against what he termed “genocidal Israel.”

Bahceli urged for comprehensive political, strategic, and military preparations, asserting that Türkiye must not be underestimated and that all scenarios should be considered.

“Of course, all kinds of scenarios should be on the agenda; all political, strategic and military preparations should be strengthened and it should be accurately confirmed that Türkiye is not a country to be taken lightly,” he stated.

Harsh reaction from Türkiye

Türkiye responded swiftly and firmly to Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz’s remarks on Monday, which criticized President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The reaction followed Erdogan’s comments suggesting that Türkiye might consider intervention against Israel because of its ongoing actions in the Gaza Strip.

In his statement, Katz harshly criticized Erdogan’s remarks, comparing him to former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and warning of severe repercussions for Türkiye if it persists with such threats.
