The defense industry cooperation between Türkiye and Pakistan is noteworthy, as both countries hold significant positions as military and geopolitical powers.
The relations between the two nations have been strong, built on mutual love and friendship, and have continued robustly since World War I.
One of the most concrete examples of this cooperation is the ship sale agreement signed in 2018, recorded as the largest single defense export agreement in Turkish defense industry history.
The value of this agreement was reported to be $1 billion. The agreement includes the provision of four corvette-type military ships to Pakistan, with some of the ships being constructed at the Istanbul Shipyard Command.
In recent years, arms trade from Türkiye to Pakistan has doubled. Türkiye has decided to produce 30 ATAK helicopters and four Ada Class frigates for Pakistan.
Moreover, over 20 years of defense industry cooperation between the two countries have now extended into new technological areas such as artificial intelligence and autonomous projects.
This strategic partnership also showcases the close cooperation between the two countries in addressing regional security issues and combating terrorism.
The defense industry cooperation between Türkiye and Pakistan enables both nations to play an influential role in Asia and establish a strong collaboration network.
