Marmaray, Izban, and Baskentray to offer free services on May 1 and May 19 holidays

Marmaray in Istanbul, IZBAN in Izmir, and Baskentray in Ankara, along with other urban rail services, will operate free of charge on May 1 and May 19 in celebration of Türkiye’s national holidays.
According to a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette on Saturday, passengers will be able to use major rail systems in Istanbul, Izmir, and Ankara free of charge on these dates.
The initiative covers service on Labor and Solidarity Day, observed on Thursday, May 1, and the Commemoration of Ataturk, Youth and Sports Day, celebrated on Monday, May 19.
Additionally, the Sirkeci–Kazlicesme Rail Line and the Gayrettepe–Istanbul Airport–Arnavutkoy Metro Line will also provide free transportation during the holidays.
Serving as the leading railways of Türkiye, Marmaray, IZBAN, and Baskentray carried a total of 323.3 million passengers in 2024.
