An extraordinary incident unfolded in Istanbul’s Beyoglu district, leaving many astonished. In a dramatic turn of events, a man swallowed a promissory note worth ₺523,000 ($15,594) during a dispute over a property deal.

The incident occurred at a business center in Beyoglu. During a photocopying session of the high-value note related to a property dispute, a confrontation ensued. The note, initially held by the businessman’s lawyer, was placed in a photocopy machine by a business center employee.

As the lawyer attempted to retrieve the original promissory note, the opposing party seized the opportunity. In a swift and shocking move, the man grabbed the note, crumpled it, and, amid a scuffle, swallowed it.

The lawyer, stunned by the man’s actions, immediately reported the incident to the police. The Ustun family involved in the dispute now faces charges for “destroying an official document,” adding a bizarre twist to the ongoing property dispute.
