STM Defense Technologies gears up to present its domestically built warships and innovative defense platforms at the 2024 DSA Fair in Malaysia, aiming to expand its international footprint

STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade will showcase its domestically developed warships at the 2024 Defense Services Asia (DSA) Fair in Malaysia.

According to a company statement, STM has secured a string of export deals, further solidifying its position as a key player in the Turkish defense industry. The company continues to take its locally-developed technologies to international markets.

STM is preparing to bring military naval platforms and tactical mini unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) systems together with the South Asian region at DSA 2024, one of the largest defense fairs in the Asia Pacific region. The 18th DSA 2024 Fair, this year, will be held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, on May 6-9.

‘Business development, export negotiations in more than 30 countries’

STM’s General Manager Ozgur Guleryuz highlighted the company’s global appeal in the defense sector, citing its military naval platforms developed through national engineering expertise, tactical mini UAV systems, cyber security initiatives, and software projects.

Guleryuz said that they will showcase military ships equipped with original designs and modern technologies at the DSA Fair in Malaysia.

“We have experience, engineering, and technology to meet all the needs of the friendly and brotherly country Malaysia at sea with modern platforms. With our national ships, we aim to open the doors to exports in the Asia Pacific and sign new collaborations,” he said.

5 different naval projects to be exhibited

STM, which builds surface and underwater platforms for the Turkish Naval Forces, the Ukrainian and Pakistani Navy, and other naval forces, will introduce five different naval projects in Malaysia.

Türkiye’s first national corvette project, MILGEM (National Ship) Ada Class, which has been delivered four times and achieved export success so far, will be exhibited at the STM stand.

Another important project, the MILGEM Istanbul Class Frigate (TCG ISTANBUL), Türkiye’s first national frigate project, for which STM is the designer and main contractor, will also be exhibited at the STM stand.

STM’s first small-sized national submarine project, the STM500, the STM MPAC Attack Boat, which has high-speed maneuverability and can launch guided missiles from surface to surface, and the CG-3100 coastal security ship will be presented to the participants at the fair.

In tactical mini UAV systems, KARGU, which has been exported to more than 10 countries on three different continents, and UAV BOYGA, which was added to the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces last year, will be exhibited at the STM stand.

On the other hand, the last ship of the MILGEM Ada Class, TCG KINALIADA (F-514) Corvette, for which STM serves as the main contractor and has reached a 70% domesticity rate by equipping it with maximum national systems, will anchor in Kuala Lumpur between May 13 and 15 as part of port visits to Japan.
