Main opposition’s Ozel criticizes AK Party, vows to lead Türkiye again
Chairman of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), Ozgur Ozel criticized the ruling AK Party over pensions, saying, “You’re a burden on this nation.”
The main opposition leader visited his party’s Nilufer District Presidency in Bursa, delivering a speech in front of the building.
In his speech, Ozel criticized the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and stated that the CHP will rule Türkiye again.
Referring to the duty of the elected CHP mayors, Ozel emphasized, “It is not the key to the door of the municipality, the safe or the city, but the key to the CHP’s power. If they work well, beautifully, honestly, if they take care of the people and the poor, eventually CHP will rule this country again.”
‘Like a lion’
Calling on President Erdogan to bring the ballot box, Ozel said, “I say, ‘(Mr.) Tayyip, let go of the basket. Put the basket on my back. I will carry the pensioners like a lion, like a lion.’ We carry the minimum wage earners. We carry this nation. If you can’t carry them, drop the basket.”
“Get off the back of the nation. You are a burden on this nation. Not the pensioners, not the minimum wage earners, not the tradesmen, not the farmers, we will carry whatever burden you put on our shoulders. “
“Those who cannot carry it will leave, those who can will come. Bring the ballot box, we will carry it. We will lift the pensioners to their feet. We promise,” Ozel pledged.
