Main opposition leader Ozel sets sights on general elections, vows CHP momentum
Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Ozgür Ozel visited the party’s Provincial Presidency in Edirne, where he addressed the public.
‘We move forward’
Highlighting CHP’s success in local elections, Ozel criticized the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) over minimum wages, noting that CHP has gained momentum in these elections and indicated that CHP will aim to become the ruling party in the upcoming general elections.
“We have successfully concluded our first local elections in the second century of the Republic, becoming the leading party after 47 years. Now, as we approach the first general elections of this century, we are witnessing an upward trend. There will be no setbacks; we are only moving forward. Therefore, we will not dwell on trivial matters. Any shortcomings will be addressed swiftly to put an end to any debates,” Özgür Özel stated.
