CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Basarir announced that CHP Chairman Ozgur Ozel could not attend Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ speech at the Turkish Parliament due to a foot injury.

Basarir provided details on Ozel’s condition, stating, “Our Chairman Ozgur Ozel really wanted to be here today, but he suffered a minor fracture in his foot. Most likely, he will be able to walk with orthopedic support under medical supervision after tomorrow. We extend our best wishes for his recovery. We intended to share this in the morning, but we decided it was more appropriate to announce it after the meeting due to its importance.”

It remains unclear whether Ozel will attend the parliamentary session that will discuss the status of Can Atalay, a deputy whose mandate was revoked. His attendance will depend on the results of a medical evaluation.
