Magnitude 5.2 earthquake hits Türkiye’s Malatya
No damage or material loss reported as of now, says Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya
A 5.2 magnitude earthquake rattles Türkiye’s Malatya – the eastern city is already reeling from the damages incurred by devastating earthquakes in February last year.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 13.93 kilometers (8.6 miles). The tremor was felt at 4:04 p.m.
According to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya’s recent statement, the earthquake did not cause any material loss or casualties.
“In the earthquake of 5.2 magnitude in Malatya Battalgazi, which was felt in the surrounding provinces, AFAD and all teams of our relevant institutions started field scanning work. As of now, there is no negative situation,” the minister said.
