Last batch of Bayraktar drone order en route to Polish Army
Last units of Bayraktar drones are on their way to Mirosławiec for the Polish Army
The first Bayraktar drones arrived in Poland at the end of 2022, with the last batch set to arrive in Mirosławiec on Thursday.
The Ministry of National Defense announced that the last set of Bayraktar drones will arrive in Poland on Thursday. They will be delivered to the 12th Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Base in Mirosławiec. Deputy Minister of National Defense Paweł Bejda will participate in the handover of the last batch of Bayraktars on Thursday, as announced by the defense ministry on social media.
Poland’s Ministry of Defense posted the following statement on its official X account:
“On May 16, Deputy Minister of National Defense Pawel Bejda will attend a ceremony commemorating the final delivery of the Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial system. The event will be held at the 12th Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Base in Mirosławiec Gorny, where Deputy Minister Bejda is scheduled to deliver a speech.”
Currently, the Polish army has three sets of Bayraktar drones, each consisting of 6 units. The first such vehicles arrived in Poland at the end of 2022.
The Bayraktar TB2 is an unmanned reconnaissance-combat aerial vehicle manufactured in Türkiye. It can achieve speeds of up to 220 km/h and climb to an altitude of 8,200 meters.
On May 24, 2021, they signed a contract for the delivery of Bayraktars. It consists of 24 units and MAM-L and MAM-C missiles. The cost of one set is estimated at $67 million.
