Karabakh reconstruction gains backing in Türkiye-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan agreement

Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan signed the Ankara Declaration on Wednesday, reaffirming their commitment to regional cooperation and support for Azerbaijan’s post-conflict reconstruction efforts in Karabakh and East Zangezur.
The agreement, signed by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, and Uzbekistan’s Bakhtiyor Saidov, underscores the three nations’ continued backing of each other’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and internationally recognized borders.
FM Fidan dubs the Middle Corridor ‘most relaible’ route
Speaking at a joint press conference in Ankara following the signing, Fidan emphasized the significance of the Middle Corridor—an alternative trade route linking Asia and Europe.
“The most reliable, fastest, and economical route between Asia and Europe is the Central Asia-Caspian Sea-South Caucasus-Türkiye corridor,” Fidan said, highlighting disruptions in global supply chains due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war, and ongoing instability in the Middle East.
The trilateral gathering, bringing together the foreign affairs, transport, and trade ministries of the three nations, marked the second such high-level meeting. Officials discussed expanding economic cooperation and infrastructure development, positioning Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan as key players in regional trade.
