Reverse tulips, which grow naturally in mountainous areas in Tunceli’s Ovacik district, add beauty to nature

In the district, where nature came to life with the melting of the snow, many regions were colored with wild and endemic plant species, and reverse tulips, popularly known as the “weeping bride,” bloomed at the foot of the Mercan Mountains in Tunceli.

Nature enthusiasts organize excursions to see the tulips at certain times.

Visitors who take daily tours to the mountains reach the tulips at the end of the arduous journey and take photographs.

Ali Haydar Imre, a nature lover, told an Anadolu Agency (AA) reporter that Tunceli becomes a completely different beauty scene every season.

“The city’s Mercan Mountains make the region very beautiful. As we climb the mountains, we can experience two seasons together,” said Ali Haydar Imre.

Stating that reaching the reverse tulips is difficult, Imre said: “First of all, it is necessary to come to the foot of the mountains by car. After parking the vehicle, a climb of about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) begins, corresponding to about 3 hours.”
