A foreign national wanted by Interpol on charges of human trafficking has been apprehended in Türkiye‘s Marmaris district, according to the local authorities.

Coordinated operation leads to arrest

The Mugla Provincial Police Department identified the suspect, an Uzbek national, who was wanted under a red notice issued by Interpol for “human trafficking for prostitution.”

Acting on this intelligence, the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department, in collaboration with the Intelligence Branch, launched a coordinated operation to locate and apprehend the individual.

Transfer to immigration authority

Following the suspect’s arrest, they were taken into custody for initial processing. Subsequently, the individual was transferred to the Mugla Provincial Directorate of Migration Management’s Removal Center for further proceedings.
