Interpol fugitive arrested in Türkiye’s Izmir on drug trafficking charges

A fugitive wanted by Interpol on drug trafficking charges was captured in Izmir, Turkish authorities confirmed on Thursday.

The individual, a foreign national identified as D.S., was subject to a red notice and had an outstanding 15-year prison sentence for manufacturing and trafficking narcotics.

Arrest in Izmir

Authorities from the Izmir Police Department’s Narcotics Crimes Unit, in coordination with the Urla Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, conducted a targeted operation in the Urla district.

Police located D.S. at a safe house, where he was apprehended without resistance.

Turkish officials confirmed that Germany had issued an extradition request for D.S. Following legal procedures at the police station, he was transferred to the Provincial Migration Management Directorate for further processing.

Interpol fugitive linked to Daesh arrested in Sanliurfa

Another suspect wanted by Interpol on terrorism charges was arrested in Sanliurfa, Turkish authorities reported.

The individual, a 32-year-old foreign national identified as M.A., was sought for alleged links to the Daesh terror organization. The Sanliurfa Police Department’s counterterrorism units conducted a surveillance operation, identifying M.A.’s hideout. A raid led to his immediate arrest.

M.A. was taken into police custody before being handed over to the Provincial Migration Management Directorate for deportation procedures.

Interpol fugitive captured in Fethiye on theft charges

Turkish authorities arrested a foreign national in Mugla’s Fethiye district who was wanted by Interpol for “aggravated theft.”

The Mugla Provincial Gendarmerie Command, in coordination with the Interpol unit at the General Command of the Gendarmerie, identified A.K., a 36-year-old Bosnian national, in the Oludeniz neighborhood of Fethiye.

Gendarmerie forces carried out an operation in Ocakkoy, successfully detaining the suspect. Following initial questioning, A.K. was transferred to the Mugla Provincial Migration Management Directorate for deportation proceedings.
