Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya casts his vote, emphasizing the importance of a peaceful and successful election process

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya and his wife Hatice Nur Yerlikaya cast their votes at Cankaya Primary School for local elections.

“We are making efforts together to ensure that the decision of our esteemed nation manifests itself beautifully at the ballot box,” Yerlikaya said.

Greeting citizens and polling officials and engaging in conversations for a while, Yerlikaya cast his vote at ballot box number 1151. First, Hatice Nur Yerlikaya placed the envelope in the ballot box, followed by Yerlikaya.

After casting his vote, the interior minister expressed his hope for the success of the local elections in a statement to the press.

Yerlikaya emphasized that now both the word and the decision are in the people’s hands, stating: “We are making efforts together to ensure that the decision of our esteemed nation manifests itself beautifully at the ballot box. The management of the entire election and the final decisions lie with the Supreme Election Council and the provincial and district election boards.

As the Ministry of Interior, we are working toward ensuring that the vote counts are conducted in a peaceful and secure environment after the election. As always, our wish and prayer is for the democracy festival to culminate in the most beautiful way and for this process to be completed successfully.”
