On Wednesday, a terrorist attack targeted the facilities of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), a leading defense company in Kahramankazan, Ankara. Security camera footage of the incident reached the public while the attack was ongoing, raising questions about the facility’s internal security.

The attack, believed to have been carried out by the PKK/YPG terrorist group, resulted in the deaths of five civilians and left 22 others wounded. Two terrorists involved in the attack were killed on the scene.

Was there surveillance footage leak during terrorist attack?

One of the most alarming aspects of the attack was the swift release of security footage from the high-security TAI facility. As the attack unfolded, footage began circulating on social media platforms, raising concerns about a potential security vulnerability within one of Türkiye’s most strategic institutions.

TAI, which produces military defense products and employs more than 15,000 people, is considered a critical component of Türkiye’s defense industry.

The rapid spread of the footage led to speculation about who leaked it and for what purpose, leaving many to question the security protocols in place at the facility.

Increased security at TAI facility

In response, security measures around the TAI facility in Kazan have been significantly heightened. Authorities are investigating how the footage was released and whether there was any negligence or breach of security.

The attack’s video leak has also raised concerns about the potential use of these images as propaganda. Terrorist groups often aim to amplify the impact of their attacks through the distribution of such footage.

Who leaked security footage?

Questions remain about who was responsible for leaking the footage from such a highly secure location and whether there were any weaknesses in the facility’s security arrangements. Public concern continue to grow over the simultaneous release of these images while the attack was still in progress, leading to discussions about the institution’s internal security.

Authorities are expected to continue investigating the origins of the leak and to take further steps to ensure the protection of critical defense infrastructure.

Terrorist attacks also aim to increase the impact of the attack with the videos by using them as propaganda for later. This incident may mark the first time a terrorist attack in Türkiye has been reported while clashes are still ongoing.
