Turkish intelligence eliminates key PKK terrorist in northern Iraq
Turkish intelligence has eliminated Gulistan Tekik, a key figure in the PKK/KCK terrorist organization, in a targeted operation in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq.
Known by the alias Pelin Batman, Tekik joined the PKK/KCK in 1998 and was sought under an arrest warrant for “Membership in an Armed Terrorist Organization.”
KCK is the umbrella body of the PKK terrorist group and its
Syrian and Iranian offshoots.
Tekik held critical positions within the organization and was known for her close ties to senior PKK/KCK leaders, including Murad Karayilan, Duran Kalkan and Ferhad Abdi Sahin.
She was also involved in the group’s female wing.
Terrorist organisation PKK/KCK, which threatens the territorial integrity of Türkiye, Iraq and Syria, has targeted thousands of Turkish citizens since its first attack in 1981.
It is known that the Sulaymaniyah-based PUK supports the terrorist organisation PKK/KCK and Türkiye has conveyed its discomfort on this issue to the PUK administration.
