Germany is looking to improve its relations with Türkiye, according to German diplomatic sources.
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is set to visit Türkiye on Feb. 5 for a meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.
German officials emphasized Türkiye’s growing regional importance, particularly due to recent developments in Syria.
Steinmeier views an inclusive process in Syria as vital and seeks to boost cooperation with Türkiye.
As part of his trip, Steinmeier will also visit Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
