Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with his Greek counterpart Yorgos Gerapetritis in Geneva, Switzerland, for talks focused on bilateral relations and regional issues, particularly tensions in the Aegean Sea and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.

While no official statement has been released regarding the details of the meeting, sources indicate that both ministers emphasized the importance of keeping channels of dialogue open between the two countries.

The high-level diplomatic encounter comes at a time when relations between the neighboring NATO allies have been strained over maritime boundaries and energy exploration rights in disputed waters.

Neither foreign ministry has released specific outcomes of the talks.
