Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will visit Iran on Tuesday to attend the inauguration ceremony of Masoud Pezeshkian, president-elect of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Pezeshkian’s election victory

According to a written statement from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fidan’s visit to Tehran is scheduled for Tuesday, where he will represent Türkiye at Pezeshkian’s swearing-in ceremony.

Pezeshkian, former health minister, secured his position as the ninth president of Iran in the second round of the presidential elections held on July 5. He received 53.7% of the vote.

Following the inauguration, Pezeshkian is expected to present his newly formed cabinet to the Iranian Parliament for a vote of confidence.
