U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken held talks with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Riyadh on Monday.
Blinken’s visit to Saudi Arabia aimed to address the Gaza cease-fire.
During the discussions, emphasis was placed on ongoing efforts to secure a cease-fire in Gaza, ensuring the release of hostages, and highlighting Hamas’ role as an obstacle to peace.
Additionally, the talks covered recent humanitarian aid increases to Gaza and the importance of sustaining this support.
Blinken’s agenda also included participation in a ministerial meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council to bolster regional security coordination and attendance at the World Economic Forum’s Special Meeting on Global Cooperation, Growth and Energy for Development.
Meanwhile, Fidan was also in Riyadh for meetings concerning Gaza.
