The fourth National Security Council summit of the year, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, commenced at 15:50. The critical meeting ended around 18:45, and a nine-point communique emphasizing determination in the fight against terrorist organizations was published afterward.

Following the approximately 2 hour and 45 minute-long critical summit at the Presidential Complex, a written statement was issued.

According to the statement from the Directorate of Communications, the Council adopted the following nine-point resolution:

  1. Information was provided to the council on domestic and international operations conducted with determination, decisiveness, and success against threats and dangers to our national unity and survival, particularly from terrorist organizations such as PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETO, and Daesh, as well as recent international developments.
  2. The progress in the fight against FETO, the perpetrator of the July 15 treason, was evaluated, and the unwavering determination to completely dismantle the terrorist organization, which attempts to cloak itself in victimhood while engaging in heinous acts under the guidance of anti-Türkiye elements, was emphasized.
  3. It was highlighted that our increased efforts in combating terrorism, with the sincere cooperation of regional countries, would provide a solid foundation for resolving common security issues, thereby making a lasting contribution to the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and prosperity of our neighbors Iraq and Syria.
  4. Support for achieving a genuine social consensus among all parties in Syria was reiterated, and it was emphasized that divisive attempts targeting the ancient friendship between the two peoples would not be allowed. The need to cleanse Syrian territories of separatist terrorism, primarily to secure Syria’s interests and survival, was underscored.
  5. The international community’s growing reaction to Israel’s ongoing massacres, which blatantly disregard legal norms and humanitarian values, was acknowledged, and it was stated that Israel’s actions must be halted immediately; otherwise, a cycle of violence could spread first to adjacent areas and then throughout the region.
  6. The Cyprus Peace Operation, conducted by Türkiye under international treaties and as a guarantor state, has established a peace, tranquility, and security environment on the island for over half a century, affirming the operation’s legitimacy and success unequivocally. It was emphasized that the Cyprus issue, our national cause, should be resolved based on the sovereign equality and equal international status of the Turkish Cypriot people, and Türkiye’s firm stance on the recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as an equal member of the international community would be maintained.
  7. It was stated that while prioritizing dialogue and constructive approaches in issues concerning the Aegean and Mediterranean, no opportunity would be given to exploit our stance, and uncompromising actions to defend our rights, interests, and benefits would continue.
  8. Developments related to the war in Ukraine and recent diplomatic efforts were discussed, noting the need for genuine multilateral efforts to establish a fair and lasting peace without further escalation or regional spread of the conflict.
  9. Long-term relationships developed between Türkiye and African countries, particularly Somalia, Libya, Sudan, and Niger, were evaluated, and it was noted that Türkiye would continue to fulfill its responsibilities to contribute to the peace and prosperity of the brotherly African peoples by ensuring security and stability.
