Fire breaks out in engine room of bulk carrier ship at Samsun Port, Türkiye
A fire broke out in the engine room of the “Firuze G,” a bulk carrier ship, which was docked at Samsun Port.
Upon receiving the alarm, fire brigades, police, and teams from the Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The fire was brought under control, and cooling operations were initiated.
Samsun Governor Orhan Tavli stated that the fire occurred in the ship’s engine room, explaining: “The fire, which is believed to have been caused by a generator malfunction, broke out in the engine room of the ‘Firuze G’ Ro-Ro vessel, which was docked at the Industrial Wharf. All 33 crew members aboard the ship safely disembarked, and all necessary precautions have been taken.”
