President Ersin Tatar set to advocate to recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus during his meeting with U.N. Secretary-General Guterres in New York
President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ersin Tatar, will meet with the leaders of the political parties represented in the parliament before departing for New York upon the invitation of U.N. Secretary-General Guterres.
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres invited President Ersin Tatar to a meeting in New York to discuss the Cyprus issue.
The meeting is scheduled for Friday, April 5, at the U.N. Headquarters.
President Tatar emphasized that during the meeting at the U.N. Headquarters in New York, he will highlight the Turkish Cypriots’ just struggle despite all embargoes and restrictions and call for an end to these impediments.
He stated that the TRNC’s recognized existence now demands recognition.
Tatar made these remarks regarding the meeting at the opening of the Fine Arts March Exhibition at Near East University (NEU).
According to the information provided by the Presidency, Ersin Tatar, in his speech at the exhibition, stated that art represents life, culture, modernity, and universality while challenging the unjust restrictions, hindrances, and embargoes imposed on the TRNC.
President Tatar pointed out that with the exhibitions held in the TRNC, artworks can be shared simultaneously with the rest of the world, emphasizing the monthly exhibitions held at Near East University as gatherings for this purpose.
