Erdogan lands in Turkish Cyprus’s Nicosia for 50th Peace Operation celebration

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Nicosia, to attend the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Cyprus Peace Operation on Saturday.

TRNC will host a grand celebration featuring a parade with 50 ships and a performance by the national aerobatic team Turkish Stars.

Erdogan traveled to TRNC on the “TC-CAN” aircraft, departing from Ataturk Airport, where he saluted the military honor guard and shook hands with well-wishers.

He was seen off by Istanbul Governor Davut Gul, Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Istanbul Provincial Chairman Osman Nuri Kabaktepe and other officials.

Accompanying Erdogan are Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahceli and some other Turkish political parties.

On the other hand, Chairman Ozgur Ozel of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) will also attend the celebrations in the TRNC.
