Erdogan initiates diplomatic efforts ahead of Eid al-Fitr with Emir Thani, Mahmoud Abbas

Ahead of Eid al-Fitr, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has begun a series of diplomatic engagements.
He held phone calls with Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, during which he extended his Eid greetings to the leaders.

Erdogan’s call with Qatar’s Emir
In his phone conversation with Emir Al Thani, President Erdogan discussed the ongoing violence in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria. He expressed that the celebrations of Eid were marred by the continued suffering in these regions, particularly due to Israeli attacks.
Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to doing everything possible to end the bloodshed and provide aid to those in need.
The leaders also touched on Türkiye-Qatar relations and broader regional and global issues. Erdogan concluded the call by offering his Eid greetings to Emir Al Thani.

Erdogan’s conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas
President Erdogan also spoke with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. The discussion focused on Israel’s escalating attacks on Palestine, as well as regional and international matters.
Erdogan voiced concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza due to the violence and emphasized that Palestinians could only overcome this crisis through unity.
Erdogan reiterated Türkiye’s ongoing efforts to amplify Palestine’s voice on the international stage and expressed hope for peace and stability to return to the Palestinian people soon. He also extended his Eid greetings to President Abbas.
