Erdogan highlights Türkiye’s strengthened defense industry, firm policy stance
The president also stresses Türkiye’s increasing international influence, attributing this success to the strengthening of the defense industry
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan underscored Türkiye’s strengthened defense industry and firm policy stance during his address at a rally held in Adana’s Station Square Sunday.
President’s address focused on Türkiye’s achievements and plans.
Highlighting developments in Türkiye’s defense industry, Erdogan announced plans for the construction of an upgraded segment of the country’s aircraft carrier.
He emphasized the active role of the Turkish Navy in this endeavor.
Speaking to the crowd, Erdogan remarked on the mindset within some circles in Türkiye, stating, “When some people look at KAAN, they see a radiator grill or a broomstick. But from Asia to Africa, tens of millions see a strengthened Türkiye.”
International influence
Underlining the country’s increasing international influence, Erdogan attributed this success to the strengthening of Türkiye’s defense industry and reduced dependence on foreign sources.
“Behind the rising reputation in foreign policy lies a robust defense industry. As our reliance on foreign imports in defense decreases, our effectiveness on the international stage increases,” he added.
Erdogan also hailed remarkable achievements in the defense sector, noting: “Today, Turkish UAVs and drones protect the skies of 34 different countries.”
In his remarks on foreign policy, Erdogan asserted Türkiye’s position as a country that earns global respect through its steadfast and resolute stance.
“We are not seeking applause from Europe; we are a country that is admired worldwide for its firm and determined stance,” he concluded.
