Eggs thrown at 2 French ministers at agricultural fair in Paris
Eggs were thrown at 2 French ministers at a traditional agricultural fair in Paris, the French capital
Eggs were thrown at Minister of Agriculture Marc Fesneau and Minister of Ecological Transformation Christophe Bechu, who attended the agricultural fair in the French capital Paris.
According to national media reports, Fesneau and Bechu attended the Paris International Agricultural Fair.
At the fair, farmers protested against the government and the two ministers who failed to find a satisfactory solution to the agricultural crisis that has been going on in the country for weeks.
Carrying banners reading “Fesneau resign”, the demonstrators called on the ministers to act more realistically in the face of this crisis.
At the fair, farmers threw eggs at the two ministers and protested the government’s agricultural policy by blowing whistles.
Reacting to the agricultural policies of the government and the European Union (EU) in France and dissatisfied with wages, farmers occasionally organize protests with their tractors in and around Paris.
The Paris International Agricultural Fair is known as the main event promoting the French agricultural sector and animal breeding.
The traditional fair, which welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors and will continue until March 3, is attended by many politicians, including the president.
