Two senior journalists from Halk TV, Editor-in-Chief Suat Toktas and Program Coordinator Kursad Oguz, were taken by police from the network’s headquarters to provide statements as part of an ongoing expert investigation on Tuesday.

Detentions in investigation

The detentions follow the earlier arrests of journalist Baris Pehlivan, TV presenter Seda Selek, and Halk TV Responsible Manager Serhan Asker.

The trio had been taken into custody on charges including the unauthorized publication of telephone conversations with a state official and attempting to influence an expert witness.

According to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation focuses on allegations of “attempting to influence an expert witness” and “recording and publishing private conversations.”

Pehlivan, Selek, and Asker remain under judicial procedures, while new testimonies continue to be collected.
